O Chelsea segue ativo no mercado de transferências e está perto de anunciar mais uma chegada. O clube de Londres fechou a contratação do goleiro Robert Sánchez, do Brighton, clube que também disputa a Premier League.

A informação é do portal “The Athletic”, que diz que os Blues pagarão 25 milhões de libras (R$ 152 milhões) pelo espanhol. O goleiro chega para brigar por posição por o compatriota Kepa Arrizabalaga, já que Édouard Mendy foi para o Al-Ahli.

Sánchez era titular incontestável do Brighton, mas perdeu a vaga cativa ao longo da temporada passada. O técnico Roberto De Zerbi trocou o espanhol por Jason Steele, que assumiu a posição na meta da equipe do sul britânico.

Sánchez não participou da viagem do Brighton aos Estados Unidos, onde a equipe realizou parte da pré-temporada. Insatisfeito após perder a titularidade, ele pediu para ser negociado.

O goleiro começou a carreira na Espanha nas divisões de base, mas se profissionalizou na Inglaterra, justamente no Brighton. Ao todo, Robert Sánchez tem 90 partidas disputadas pelas Gaivotas na equipe principal.
